About us

Since 1972, the staff at Chippenham Hospital has been committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services to patients in Central Virginia, providing treatment for routine medical issues as well as complex injuries and illnesses.

Message from the CEO

Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

Since opening our doors in 1972, we continue to strive to provide the best patient care in Central Virginia. We focus on ensuring our nationally-recognized medical services along with our programs such as cardiology at Levinson Heart Institute, orthopedics and joint replacement, and behavioral health at Tucker Pavilion are available to you and your family.

Chippenham Hospital is available for you whenever you need our services. Our emergency room (ER) and pediatric ER see more adults and children than any other hospital in the area. And as a Level I Trauma Center, we are prepared for life's emergencies.

Our goal is to care for you like family. Thank you for choosing Chippenham Hospital.

Sincerely,

William Lunn, MD
Chief Executive Officer, Chippenham Hospital

Awards and recognitions
Across all of our services and specialties, we strive to raise the bar on healthcare. Because of our dedication to this pursuit, we are proudly recognized by organizations such as the American College of Radiology and The Joint Commission.

Our commitment to care

Our top priority is making you feel confident that you’ve chosen the right facility for your healthcare needs.

Patients are our priority

Richmond area residents already know about the top-quality care we provide. We see more adults and kids in our emergency room (ER) and pediatric emergency room than in any other hospital in the area.

In addition to delivering superior healthcare services, we also want to make you as comfortable as we can while you’re here. We encourage you to communicate freely and frequently with your care team. Simply put: if there’s something we can do for you, just ask. Our team is ready and available to answer any questions you may have about your care.

  • Expertise. Many of the physicians who practice here are leaders in their respective fields.
  • Compassion. Our nursing and medical teams provide you and your family with the care you deserve.

Although we know we provide our patients with high-quality medical care, it’s nice to be recognized by external parties for the compassionate care our medical teams provide.

While our hospital has changed a lot over the years, our commitment to caring for you like family has not. You will feel it as soon as you walk through our doors and have confidence in knowing you have chosen the best facility for your healthcare needs.

We’re proud to be the region’s first choice for orthopedics, joint care, behavioral health (at Tucker Pavilion) and cardiovascular care (at the Levinson Heart Institute). As one of the top employers in the area, we understand the importance of an economically and physically healthy community. We’ll continue to do our best to take care of you and your family.
