Wound care

Wound care involves medical interventions to heal a wound after injury. Specialized treatment is provided for wounds that are nonhealing or refuse to heal on their own. A vital aspect of treatment includes learning how to properly dress and care for a wound.

Wound care treatments and services

Our wound specialists are highly trained in a variety of advanced wound treatments. They are ready to treat your condition with skill and compassion.

Burn treatment

As a Level I Trauma Center, we are equipped and staffed 24/7 to treat your most severe burn injuries, which are considered traumatic wounds. Our burn care is provided by a multidisciplinary team, including burn surgeons, physical therapists, occupational therapists, plastic surgeons and other medical professionals.

Where to go for burn injuries

Always go directly to the emergency room (ER) if you require immediate care for a burn. However, if the burn you sustain doesn't require urgent treatment, we offer outpatient burn treatment, scar management, compression therapy and functional assessments.

Hyperbaric medicine

Our hospital offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), an advanced treatment option available to help heal your wounds. HBOT is typically performed as an outpatient treatment and involves breathing pure oxygen in a sealed, pressurized environment (hyperbaric chamber). This sends much-needed oxygen to the wound to reduce swelling and regrow healthy tissue.

HBOT is also used for compromised skin flaps, as well as post-radiation care in the breast, head and neck. It is also often used as a treatment for injuries or complications related to scuba diving.
