When cancer is detected, one option for treatment is the surgical removal of the tumor. If the decision is made to proceed with surgery, our doctors specialize in the removal of many types of cancer.

Urologic surgery

When urologic surgery is necessary, we use minimally invasive procedures whenever possible. Following kidney failure or chronic kidney disease, a kidney transplant is necessary to preserve life. In these cases, we perform both living donations and paired exchange transplants at one of our sister hospitals.

Robotic surgery services

Our surgeons have undergone specialized and intensive training to use our robot-assisted surgical platforms. Your care team of highly experienced anesthesiologists, nurses, assistants and surgical technicians are also trained to support those surgeons during robotic surgery.

During a robot-assisted procedure, your surgeon controls the platform's robotic arms. This enables surgeons to operate with enhanced vision, precision, dexterity and control compared to the human hand.

Our surgeons use robot-assisted surgery for procedures across numerous specialties, including knee replacement and hernia surgeries. In some cases, we may be able to perform single-site robotic surgery, which means only one incision is necessary. Your surgeon will discuss with you if your procedure qualifies for single-site surgery.
