Senior behavioral healthcare
Senior Transitions is a geriatric psychiatry unit providing mental health stabilization care for patients 55 years old and older. Caregivers, friends or family members may request a referral to Senior Transitions. We use a multidisciplinary approach to support our patients, providing both outpatient and short-term inpatient care from professionals including doctors, recreational therapists, social workers and dietitians.
Women's care
Our breast specialists are dedicated to detecting breast cancer early by using innovative screening tools, including mammography. We also offer women's cancer care to identify and remove malignant tumors to prevent the spread of breast cancer, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer and uterine cancer, among others.
Orthopedics
Our orthopedic doctors diagnose and treat conditions and injuries affecting the bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Whether you have arthritis, broken bones or carpal tunnel syndrome, we see you through from initial diagnosis to follow-up care.

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center - Classrooms A & B
This two hour class provides in-depth information on breastfeeding. Topics include milk production, breastfeeding benefits and challenges, returning to work and more. Classes are taught by certified lactation consultants.<br><br>Please one registration per couple. If you are unable to attend, please notify the event coordinator to allow the next person on the waitlist to attend.
LewisGale Medical Center - Conference Room A
The breastfeeding class covers what to expect in the hospital, positioning, latching-on, what to expect in the first two weeks, recognizing and solving common breastfeeding challenges, how to tell if the baby is "getting enough" and a very brief overview on returning to work and ordering a breast pump. Bring your questions!<br><br>There is no cost for this class however registration is limited. Dads/partners/support persons are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the class.<br><br>** Please call the unit if the class date you are wanting to attend is full 540-776-4663**
LewisGale Medical Center
This is a tour of the labor and delivery unit at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA. A nurse will bring expecting parents on the delivery unit and tour the different rooms, amenities, and answer unit related questions.<br><br>Registration is required for the tour. Only siblings to the new baby will be allowed to attend during the tour but please remember, there will be other laboring parents and sleeping babies on the unit.
