Reston Hospital Center breaks ground on new freestanding Leesburg ER & Imaging
Leesburg, Va. — Reston Hospital Center this week broke ground on a new 14,000-square-foot emergency room and outpatient imaging center in Leesburg, marking the hospital’s latest investment in the health and safety of the Northern Virginia community.
The event was attended by Reston Hospital Center leadership, physicians, board members and staff along with Loudoun County elected officials, Town of Leesburg officials, Loudoun Chamber leaders and Loudoun County first responders.
“Leesburg ER & Imaging reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting people where they are,” said Nathan Vooys, chief executive officer for Reston Hospital Center. “The Northern Virginia region continues to grow and thrive, and we are proud to ensure that outstanding emergency care grows right alongside it. Together, we are building more than just a new facility — we are building peace of mind for families who deserve access to world-class emergency care, close to home.”
The new facility will include 11 patient rooms, a trauma bay and will offer walk-in and outpatient imaging tests, like CT scans, X-rays, ultrasound and mammography.
“This facility is being built to deliver care across the full spectrum of emergencies — from broken bones to life-threatening conditions,” said Dr. Nafis Ahmed, Reston Hospital Center’s System Medical Director of Emergency Medicine. “Our teams will have access to advanced imaging, onsite lab testing, and full integration with Reston Hospital Center to ensure that patients seamlessly receive the right level of care. Equally important, this ER will be staffed by emergency medicine physicians and nurses specially trained to make split-second decisions when every second counts.”
The Leesburg ER & Imaging groundbreaking brought together leadership from Reston Hospital Center, Loudoun County, and the Town of Leesburg.
