Reston Hospital Center NICU ranked among nation's top 5% for patient experience

The neonatal intensive care unit receives 2023 Guardian of Excellence Award

Reston, VA – For the second consecutive year, Reston Hospital Center’s recently expanded 29-bed NICU is recognized among the United States’ top 5% of healthcare providers in delivering patient experience. The hospital has been named a 2023 Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey, the global leader in healthcare experience solutions and services.

“We are particularly proud of this award as it honors the outstanding work of our care teams putting human experience at the heart of healthcare,” said Laura-Anne Cleveland, chief nursing officer. “Our NICU team and our staff work collaboratively with Children’s National Hospital neonatologists. We know our role is to really act as guardians to our tiniest patients and provide a multidisciplinary, personalized, family-centered care approach, which allows new parents to be very involved with their newborns during their stay in the NICU.”

Press Ganey works with more than 41,000 healthcare facilities in its mission to reduce patient suffering and enhance caregiver resilience to improve the overall safety, quality, and experience of care.
