Our imaging and diagnostic services

As part of our women's health program, our innovative breast imaging services include 3D mammograms and ultrasounds. We also offer minimally invasive breast biopsies in the event we detect an abnormality.

Breast density evaluations

Determining your the type of breast tissue you have can help us make accurate assessments. It may be necessary to evaluate you multiple times if you have dense breasts, which means they're made up of more fibrous, glandular tissue than fatty tissue. It is important to know if you have dense breasts, as it can make it more difficult to detect cancer on mammograms.

Mammograms

A traditional mammogram is a low-dose X-ray of your breasts, which allows your radiologist to see changes in breast tissue.

A 3D mammogram is a high-definition imaging technique that allows your breasts to be viewed up close, layer by layer. It is made from multiple images of your breast from various angles, which combine to produce a 3D image. This diagnostic test makes it easier to detect even the smallest abnormality.

Breast ultrasound

This is a painless, noninvasive imaging test that uses sound waves to help detect breast lumps or other abnormalities that appeared in your mammogram.

Breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

A breast MRI looks deeper into the breast tissue to find abnormalities that might not be visible through other types of imaging. This procedure can detect incredibly small lesions and the beginnings of potentially serious medical issues. It is especially helpful for people with very dense breast tissue or people with breast implants.

Breast biopsy

A breast biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure, during which a small tissue sample is removed from your breast for further testing. Our physician will schedule you for a biopsy if your mammogram or other imaging test detects an abnormality.
